What is Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) 3D Printing?

LCD 3D Printing uses a CAD file to build a part layer by layer from UV-sensitive resin being cured by a light source. This is similar to DLP & SLA.

Benefits

  • High detail.
  • Quick print times.
  • Smooth surfaces.
  • Can print transparent parts.
  • Can print rubber-like parts.

Applications

  • Dental purposes
  • Props/Models
  • Flexible parts.
  • Transparent parts.

LCD 3D Printing FAQs

LCD printing uses photosensitive resins, available in different types, including:

  • Standard resin (for general-purpose prints)
  • Tough resin (for impact-resistant parts)
  • Flexible resin (for rubber-like parts)
  • Dental and medical resins (for biocompatible applications)
  • Castable resin (for jewelry and casting applications)
  • Jewelry (casting and fine-detail designs)
  • Dental and medical (custom prosthetics, dental models)
  • Miniatures and figurines (high-detail prints)
  • Engineering prototypes (concept models and functional parts)
LCD 3D printing is relatively fast, with most prints taking 24 hours, depending on factors like layer height, part size, and complexity.

We have created a design guide with specifications for our 3D printing, vacuum casting and reaction injection moulding technologies.
