No Knock Cup
The Challenge
Tommee Tippee wanted to create an innovative children’s cup that combined spill-resistance with playful design. The product needed to be functional for parents, fun and appealing for children, and meet strict safety and regulatory standards. The challenge was to design a cup that could stand firm on hard surfaces, resist knocks, remain easy for children to pick up, and feature engaging visuals that appealed to young users.
The Solution
Our product design team worked collaboratively with Tommee Tippee from ideation through to prototyping. Starting with brainstorming sessions, we generated sketches of multiple design concepts, including playful animal-themed lids such as turtles, geckos, and pandas. We then created digital renders to refine the designs, exploring different drinking lips and spill-resistant mechanisms. Functional prototypes of the bottles and silicone lids were produced in-house, enabling us to test performance against key criteria: spill resistance, stability on surfaces, ease of handling, child safety, and regulatory compliance. Throughout the process, feedback sessions with Tommee Tippee ensured the product was validated and refined before progressing to mass production.
