The Challenge

Air travel software and hardware specialists, INK Aviation, wanted to evolve and enhance the passenger experience at airports. Their vision was to create a check-in system that was not only user-friendly but also space-efficient to support the operational needs of airports. While airports sought automated solutions that saved valuable floor space, passengers needed simple, intuitive, and stress-free processes that would make the start of their journey smoother. The challenge was to balance these two perspectives and create a solution that delivered functionality and efficiency without compromising on user experience.

The Solution

To address these challenges, we carried out in-depth research into the needs of both airports and passengers, examining existing bottlenecks and pain points in the check-in process. From this, we worked collaboratively with INK Aviation to design a compact, space-saving kiosk that offered all the essential functionality in a streamlined form. By combining intuitive design with robust hardware and software integration, we ensured that the kiosks were not only easy for passengers to use but also efficient for airports to deploy and maintain. This compact solution formed part of a wider ecosystem of self-service products that could be scaled and adapted to meet the requirements of different airport environments.

The Results

  • Delivery of a compact check-in kiosk that maximised airport space without reducing functionality.

  • Streamlined airport operations by integrating efficient self-service technology into existing systems.

  • Establishment of a scalable product ecosystem, supporting INK Aviation’s goal of evolving modern air travel.
