The Challenge

Arquella wanted to develop an integrated nurse call system with an intuitive interface that empowered care home nurses, improved operational efficiency, and provided actionable data for care providers. They needed a fast, low-risk development process to move from concept to functional hardware, enabling rapid testing and iteration before full production.

The Solution

We partnered with Arquella to design, prototype, and develop the nurse call system using an iterative design approach. Leveraging in-house 3D printing and low-volume production, we produced functional hardware prototypes quickly, allowing the team to test ergonomics, usability, and integration with care workflows. Using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Stereolithography (SLA), we created precise, durable prototypes that accurately represented the final product while enabling fast design refinement.

The Results

  • Delivered functional prototypes ready for real-world testing in care homes.

  • Enabled rapid iteration and refinement, improving usability and nurse workflow efficiency.

  • Provided a low-risk pathway from concept to launch, reducing development costs.

  • Supported Arquella in creating an innovative, data-driven nurse call system that enhances care delivery and operational efficiency.
