Apawtiser, a Sheffield-based small business specializing in handmade, hypoallergenic dog treats, approached us to streamline their production process with custom-designed treat cutter templates.

We created CAD designs for alternating cookie cutter trays, specifically engineered to reduce production time by half. By optimising the tray layout, we helped Apawtiser increase efficiency and fulfill customer orders more quickly.

To ensure the trays worked flawlessly, we rapidly prototyped different sizes and thicknesses for validation in SLS. We also sourced and confirmed food-safe materials that met safety standards for manufacturing.

During testing, we discovered that an excess of heart-shaped cutouts caused dough to stick, slowing down production. By tweaking the design to reduce friction and waste, we created a seamless, more efficient solution that improved Apawtiser’s workflow.

Now, with optimised cutter trays, Apawtiser can produce their treats faster and more efficiently, helping them meet growing customer demand.
