Rapid Prototyping, Additive Manufacturing & Low Volume Manufacturers

Nov 5, 2024 2:49:10 PM | Company News A Year In Review For AME-3D

Reflect on 2022 with us and see all the milestones we've surpassed this year along with our plans for the future of our 3D printing business.

We are finally in the last month of 2022. The countdown to 2023 is on. With so many achievements and memorable moments in the past year at AME Group, we thought it would be fitting to do a recap of 2022, and highlight just how much AME-3D has grown alongside close relatives biild.

The growth of team AME-3D

Our team has just gotten bigger and better this year with the addition of more staff to boost our sales & marketing  team as well as the workshop team.

Our recruitment hasn’t only been about hiring the most experienced people but also hiring people with potential where AME Group can help develop their skills & experience within their job role. This includes our new digital marketing apprentice, Hannah Barden, who not only works with AME-3D but biild as well.

Growth Of Client Base & Retention Rates

This year we have seen our client base increase significantly, and along with this, we have been able to gain more experience within different industries such as the film & prop sector for 3D printing. The possibilities with 3D printing are endless and we have made it our mission this year to introduce it alongside the concept of low-volume production to more businesses that work within different areas. Without a doubt, it’s safe to say these businesses have seen their costs reduce dramatically and revenue increase. Traditional tooling and manufacturing methods are now a thing of the past for many of our new clients.

Not only has our client base increased, but the number of customers that we retain and continue to be impressed with our quality of service has too. We have built our standards higher than ever before. We are committed to giving fast turnaround times, competitive pricing, excellent customer service and high-quality parts. Our approach is now a full 360-degree outlook on every client that we work with, so we remain one of the UK’s most competitive additive manufacturing businesses to work with.

Our perspective has changed, we are now integrating with other business’ design and procurement teams to offer expert advice and assistance when needed so we make sure we go the extra mile.

Became ISO 9001:2015 Certified

ISO 9001:2015 Manufacturing Service

We upped our accreditations by becoming ISO 9001:2015 certified. This has allowed us to reach  businesses in different sectors that we haven’t been as readily available to and begin building key relationships to become a supplier for them in the future.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification reinforces our promise to supply businesses with the highest quality of parts that undergo a thorough inspection to make sure they meet our standards. Learn more about what this ISO certification means to us in our blog post, here.

Received Funding From Mercia Equity Finance

Sheffield 3D Printing Business

We received a round of funding from NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance totalling £500,000 which has allowed us to expand our 3D printing services and deliver our capabilities to new markets.

You can learn more about the funding from Mercia here.

Joined Nexus Leeds & Sheffield Chamber of Commerce

Becoming more connected with our local areas has been a big focus. We have learned the value of integrating within a community and giving back through attending events and discussing the opportunities that we have available.

Our new connections with Nexus Leeds and the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce allowed us to create valuable links that benefit both sides & we are happy to educate other members on the growing popularity of additive manufacturing.

Nexus Connect Event Leeds

We have attended events and even been guest speakers for these organisations, a recent one being the Nexus Connect event that our Managing Director, Rich, spoke at.

More Networking Events

Back to normality after the Covid-19 lockdowns could only mean one thing for our sales team and that is getting back out there and attending the key events that connect the manufacturing industry. Meeting new people, reconnecting with old, and showing people our progress as a business. The sales guys were eager to get out to re-ignite the sparks that come with in-person conversations, and they have done just that with so many new connections being made and nurtured.

Aiming For More – 2023

2022 will go down in AME Group’s history as a memorable year and a driving force for what’s to come in 2023 and beyond. We would like to extend a special thank you and moment of appreciation to all of our staff at AME-3D who have worked incredibly hard to break company records and push us further than ever before.

AME-3D is only getting stronger and we will continue to drive our message that 3D printing and low-volume production methods within manufacturing are quickly surpassing the old ways of traditional manufacturing.

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. We will be closed over the festive period from 24/12/22, re-opening 03/01/23. However, our SLA and SLS 3D printing machines will still be running to make sure our clients are ready for the new year's demand.
